IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Big Changes Ahead for Maine Breast Cancer Coalition

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of future fundraising, the Board of Directors of the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition has made the difficult decision to phase out our Support Service Fund by the end of 2020.

In its 20 years of existence, the Support Service Fund of the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition has awarded grants totaling over $2.3 million to more than 4,500 Maine residents and for this accomplishment, we are so proud and grateful. We could not have done it without our incredibly dedicated Support Service Fund program assistant and the MBCC volunteers who have comprised the Support Service Fund committee through the years. Additionally, the generosity of our collaborative partners, granting agencies, volunteer members, business and individual fundraisers and supporters has been essential to our success and remarkable to witness.

As we begin the process of closing our Support Service Fund, we will continue to accept applications for those needing financial assistance until October 30, 2020. Updated information will continue to be available on our website at as well as our Facebook page at We have not yet determined whether the coalition will continue to exist in a different capacity – perhaps as an advocacy-only organization. Those details will be shared as decisions are made.

Again, we thank you for your partnership and for your role in the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition’s contributions to those living with and at risk for breast cancer in Maine throughout our 26 years as a coalition and the 20 years of our Support Service Fund!

Please note: The events listed on this page are listed as a convenience for visitors to our website and are not necessarily sponsored by Maine Breast Cancer Coalition. Events sponsored by MBCC will be identified as such.
