The third annual Pink Cart to the Cure benefit golf event was held at the Sunset Ridge Golf Links in Westbrook on September 15, 2019. It included a golf game, food, music, a silent auction, raffles, and prizes. It was a huge success and a lot of fun, too, raising $5,000 for Maine Breast Cancer Coalition’s Support Service Fund!
Many thanks to Sunset Ridge Golf Links, which hosted the event, to all who attended, to the business and individual sponsors, to the many volunteers, and a special thank you to event chair April Burnell and co-chair Charlotte Darling, who both worked so hard all year to make this wonderful event happen. All of us at Maine Breast Cancer Coalition are so grateful!
Some participants who fill out the survey will also be invited to participate in an optional sub-study, which includes a medical record review, a blood or saliva sample, and tumor analysis. Findings from the survey and optional sub-study may help the research team discover how to help people live longer after a diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer.
The study is recruiting internationally women and men age 18 or older who have been diagnosed with metastatic (or stage IV) breast cancer. Click here to learn more or to join the study.
AAW states, "Our wish is that our recipients hear the words 'you are cancer free' from their doctors and continue on their life journey." Visit the AAW website for more information or to submit an application.

Last week, Rosemarie (Ro) LeGasse, the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition's dedicated Support Service Fund program assistant, and Ro's uncle, Gene Moreau, had the pleasure of meeting long-term donor Darlene Gleba in Rockland.
Every year since 2011, Darlene and her husband John have been major donors to the Support Service Fund through fundraising at their annual Gleba Open golf tournaments. Click here to read about the 2019 tournament.
All of us at Maine Breast Cancer Coalition are so appreciative of the Gleba's generosity!
